Climate change is happening today…

…and gasoline is one of the biggest culprits. Every gallon of gas burned emits 20 pounds of carbon dioxide, the greenhouse gas that is the main driver of climate change. Gasoline and diesel-powered transportation is the biggest source of carbon emissions and air pollution in the U.S.

This is why putting the brakes on gasoline is a critical part of the Green New Deal.

These are the latest Green New Deal resolution’s goals for transportation:

"Overhauling transportation systems in the United States to eliminate pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector as much as is technologically feasible, including through investment in (i) zero-emission vehicle infrastructure and manufacturing; (ii) clean, affordable, and accessible public transportation; and (iii) high-speed rail"

Climate change isn’t waiting for the Green New Deal resolution to be passed into law. Neither should we. Just like with the anti-smoking campaign, we need to change the culture on gasoline now.

Coltura is an award-winning nonprofit combining art and political activism to fight climate change with a laser-focus on phasing out gasoline in the US. There’s a lot of misinformation about gasoline out there. We need help all the help we can get to share the facts about gasoline’s harms and the availability right now of clean alternatives like electric vehicles.

Take the next step. Sign up for news, inspiration and political action about making America gasoline-free.

Gasoline harms our climate at all stages of its life cyle.
