Coltura worked with Washington legislators and Yes Clean Cars coalition members on legislation calling for swift electrification of state and local government fleet vehicles.
On April 28, 2019, the Washington State Legislature passed a transportation budget bill including the first full-scale analysis of “substantial conversion” to electric of city, county, state, and public transit vehicles. The bill, ESHB 1160, passed 49 to 0 in the Senate and 96 to 2 in the House, and was signed into law by Governor Inslee on May 21, 2019. The relevant provisions are at page 8, beginning on line 24.
